Draw 15 tubes of Blood

After suffering hives for more than 2 month, I finally have a chance to see allergist on Nov 1. That morning, I didn't eat anything before visit the doctor (in case I need to do the allergy test). But when the doctor finish the conversation with me, he told me that I have a "Idiopathic Urticaria". And in order to find out the real problem, I need to draw blood for further diagnose. Since I didn't eat anything before I went to see the doctor, I decide to go to the lab directly.

After I arrived the lab, wait for about 40 minutes. Finally is my turn to draw blood. The first thing that lab technician told me is: do you know that we have to draw "a lot" of blood?
I said: what?
She said: your doctor assigned a lot of test, so we need to draw a lot of blood, can you handle it?
I said: un..I don't know, but I didn't eat anything today, and I thought I shouldn't eat anything before I have the test.
She said: I don't know about that, you suppose ask your doctor before coming here. But it is about 15 tubes. Let me see how can I colorize it. (then she start counting).
I said: Yeah, my doctor know that I haven't eat anything, so I guess I will be okay. And there is a bakery next door, I can go there and get something to eat after this.
She said: We only responsible to draw blood, not providing food. Are you sure you can handle it?
I said: I think so, lets do it.

When she put the needle into my skin, I didn't watch. But after I felt she start drawing blood, I start watching. So she asked: You like to watch it, don't you?
I said: Yeah...because it is really interesting to see my blood just pop out tube by tube.
She didn't say anything..
After a while, I kept in chatting mode that told her that I only don't like to see the moment needle put into my skin, but I like to see blood going out...blah blah blah.
Then after she finished the process in less than 3 mins.
I said: That's it? (
I was surprised how fast that is...)
She said: Yes, that's it...you have a good vein. Then she gave that Garfield bandage :).

After that, even I haven't eat anything since wake up, I didn't feel dizzy or anything.
2 days later (Saturday morning), my
allergist called and told me one of the possible cause of the hives is because I have "Hashimoto's thyroiditis". This is not a bad illness, but I finally realize why I can sleep more than regular people.

I love Autumn

Fall is one of my favorite season. Not only because the weather is nicer, but also because the changing color of landscape in North East USA.

Everyday, I expect to see a little bid (or a lot) color changing performance of mother nature. Everyday is another surprise...I like Summer's green and warm weather, or Spring's vibrant flower, or Winter's pure white snow. But I like Autumn the most...There was a online test I did long time ago says that I belong to Autumn, and I can't agree more!

No matter I upset I was at work, as long as I saw those blue sky with colorful foliage, I fell better. Especially seeing those bright orange/red maples, make may day better.

Harry Potter Mania

I can't believe it is only 1 month ago, that Harry Potter 7 finally came out. I felt like the book has been out forever, and I already finished the book twice.

Although English is not my 1st language, but since I've been here for about 7 years...it is not too hard for me to read the entire book (just take longer time then others). I really have to give HP credits, because of Harry Potter series, I start reading "big novel" in English. Before that, I only want to read books 350 pages or less.
To tell the truth, I still don't like how the story end (I want MORE~~~it seems there are tones of story left untold). As for the book review, just leave it to professionals...especially everybody has different preference how the story end. (I am really glad that Ron and Hermione end up together. I sense it since the 2nd book, and it gets more and more obvious). As for the 19 years later, I think I have to wait the Harry Potter Encyclopedia to figure out what is going on in that lost 19 years...(of course, Rowling will earn more money from there).

I am not too worry about feeling lost or can't find book to read after the end of HP though...Because I love to read, there are so many other wonderful fantasy novel and awesome detective novel out there (and according to the news, Rowling's next book is about detective novel as well...can't wait!!)

Oh..forgot to mention...as a HP fan, of course I went to the midnight book release party..the following is the clip I took with my digital camera. (Suppose to go to New York city, but too lazy, and end up in local B&R)

I am back..

I am back..after almost 2 years of being a slacker..In these 1.5 years, I actually did a lot of post in my Mandarin blog. But just can't find motivation to do the English one. Especially to day the same thing twice.

But since I need to practice my English writing (because I don't have a lot of chance to write anymore), I decide to start posting in this English blog. And from now on, I will post different things in this one then my Mandarin blog. Sometimes it might repeat, if it is interesting enough and I can express myself in both language. (It is really hard in writing) I know my writing sucks...usually my writing just like my speaking, instead of try to make it more elegant..but it make myself feels more real...anyway...I am back, and I will keep this blog update from now on (Of course not every day, because I hate

The picture above was taken in Japan Nagoya airport last February (the date on the frame was a typo, I forgot to change to the correct date) when I went back to Taiwan for Chinese New Year, then visit Japan with my aunt and my sister.

September Up Date

Yes, I finally can find time to update this blog again. It has been a pretty busy summer so far. Couple weeks ago (maybe last month), I went to Williamsburg to visit Wendy (a classmate and a friend back to SUNY-ESF in Syracuse). There was a giglio festival going on that week. When we walk around, we found a pretty funny ride called "BERRY go Round" (Like Mary go Round). It is a very creative name.
After that, I went to Jay's (Erin's boyfriend, we all from SUNY-ESF) surprise birthday party, and they surprised us, too. They got engaged, congratulation!!!
In the end of July, went back to Syracuse, attend osseous Harborfest to see kick ass fireworks, it is awesome!!
Nothing exciting happened in August though, only one weekend went to see Broadway show. Most of the time is WORK WORK WORK....I am glad Summer is finally end, although it is my favorite season.

Early September, I finally have a chance to see US OPEN, and lucky me, I saw the best game of the entire series. Yes, Andre Agassi vs. James Blake, it was September 7, Wednesday night. The game end around 1:15am, and Agassi win the last of tiebreak 8:6 defeat Blake (3-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6)).

A major reason that I didn't update this English blog due to busy working and busy enjoying summer. I finally able to catch up my Chinese blog, finish most of the overdue journal. Now summer end, I will have more spare time to work on this site. And hope my friends will come back to visit more often.

Chinese food coma

Well, my boss usually order Chinese food on Friday. And we usually order form one restaurant not far from where I live. I don't know why, since last month, after eating their food, I feel so tired and fall to sleep easily.

Today, I didn't really order the lunch special, so I didn't fell it. But all of the co-workers felt the same way=> too salty and tired. Especially one of my co-worker is in "Chinese Food Coma", which means he want to sleep and can't really work on project. But I think that is just his excuse. The funny thing is my boss want me to ask the restaurant, co'z we all speak Chinese. Problem is they all ordered the food w. brown sauce. I guess they must put something in that sauce to make people feel tired and sleepy. Maybe the MSG, although they said "NO MSG" on the menu.

ps. I will try to keep up this diary, but you have to let me know you are reading it....that will keep my motivation! THANK YOU ^_^ who ever you are.
